The story behind Happy Little Failures

Hi! My name is Kristen. I'm a writer (duh), a coffee aficionado, and a future pig mom,  but I'd like to consider my full-time career to be in happiness.

But let's cut the witty Instagram bio-esque intro short and address the elephant in the room:

Why should anyone take advice on achieving happiness from a blog with "failures" in the name?!

For a long time, I let my failures define me. But I've learned that instead of tallying up all of the things I've failed at and thinking, "Wow, I sure suck at life," I should look at all of the things I've tried, and be proud of my ambition , as well as the lessons I have learned from those failures.  After all, if you want to be happy, you have to try new things. Fearing failure and staying complacent with what you have will never let you grow to reach your full potential. And when you don't reach it, it's often hard to truly be happy.

Happy Little Failures is for anyone who wants to pursue happiness in every aspect of their lives. Whether it's in college, your career, or just your lifestyle.

Through this blog, you will meet inspiring individuals who have achieved happiness unconventionally, because not everyone follows the college-to -9 -to-5 career path, and believing that you have to in order to achieve success and happiness is extremely limiting. There is no cookie-cutter formula for happiness that will work for everyone. This blog will introduce you to happy lifestyle tips, education and skill-building options, and so much more.

All of that may sound like a bunch of campy motivational speaker crap, but working to be happy isn't all that overrated. After all, if you don't work for happiness, what are you really living for?
